Permanent Make up

For women who have to spend every morning applying for most of their lives, permanent make-up sounds like a dream come true. To enhance features and save time, a growing number of women are opting to undergo permanent make up.

The permanent makeup or micropigmentation is a type of tattoo by means of a dermography with disposable needles that deposit pigments in the upper layer of the skin.

It can also help to deliver shading and proper color to discolored skin from burns, scars and injuries. Also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro pigment implantation, permanent make-up can be used to fill in or darken light or sparse eyebrows, line both upper and lower eyelids, as well as both line and fill in the lips. Whichever look you want, good permanent make-up can help you look your best no matter what you’re up to, morning, noon and night.

What can I expect from the permanent make up or micropigmentation?

Habitually the permanent makeup or micropigmentation is used to delineate lips, brows and lids, to camouflage scars, to paint breast areolas - that commonly get lost because of mastectomies - and to soften or to hide the consequences of some illnesses like the vitiligo and other skin affections. It also

  • Improves the appearance of thin lips.
  • Improves the appearance of thin or no eyebrows.
  • Corrects an uneven hairline.
  • Provides a solution for those allergic to makeup
  • Boost in self-esteem.
  • Saves time and money on makeup.

What all can the permanent make up do for me?

Permanent Eyeliner

Permanent eyeliner gives the lower and upper lash line a more defined look and makes eye lashes appear fuller.  Using a tattoo pen, a cosmetic tattooist will apply a line of ink with predetermined thickness.

Eyebrow Liner

Eye brow liner permanently lines the eyebrows. An appropriate color is chosen and tattooed long the natural curve of the brow. For patients lacking eyebrows or seeking a fully tattooed look, laser hair removal may be used to keep the brow area hair free.

Lip Liner

Lining the lips provides shape and contour to undefined lips. Often performed with permanent lip color, lip liner enhances the look of the mouth.

Lip Fill

Filling in the lips is a more comprehensive tattooing procedure, and can take longer and involve more pain. Choosing a color that suits you is of high importance, since it will be permanent and visible at all times.

How is permanent make up done?

Getting permanent cosmetics is similar to getting a tattoo. Patients are given local anesthesia to numb the skin and, after the anesthetic takes effect, the specialist begins. The procedure usually takes about one to two hours.

The doctor or makeup specialist uses a hollow, vibrating needle to introduce the pigment into the middle layer of skin (dermis). A droplet of the pigment is then released into the skin. The color used will look dark and shiny, while the surrounding areas will appear swollen and red. Patients can go home shortly after treatment.

A follow-up treatment may be needed to adjust the shape, color, and density of the permanent cosmetic.

Shall I feel pain during the procedure?

You would only feel a mild discomfort. Topical, or local anesthetic would  numb the area  and minimize pain. Most patients feel a slight stinging sensation, but no actual pain.

Would I require some time to recover?

After a permanent make-up procedure you will be sore and swollen for two to five days. Tattoos may initially seem too bright or dark at first; however, these colors should fade over several days to reveal your chosen color.

Your doctor will advise you to keep the newly tattooed area clean and dry for two days until you may return to normal bathing and cleansing routines. You may also be given an ointment to use for moisturizing the dry areas.

While recovering you must follow the post-op instructions, which may include placing ice and ointment over the treated area. This may also include avoiding sunlight. Following these instructions can ensure better results and reduce the possibility of complications.

What results can I expect from the permanent makeup?

The micropigmentation beautifies and rejuvenates the treated body areas. With the permanent make-up you will obtain a water and perspiration proof make-up that rejuvenates the aspect of the face. It is very useful for women with any kind of difficulty to put on makeup every day. The medical micropigmentation allows correcting skin defects like scars and illness consequences like vitiligo.

How long would the permanent make up last?

The micropigmentation remains for a period of 3 to 7 years. It lasts a shorter time than the decorative tattoos because the dermography deposits the pigment in the most superficial skin layers.

If aging produces changes in the face symmetry, you can correct the make-up with new micropigmentations.

Can I combine permanent make up with any other cosmetic procedure?

Many of our regular clients combine non-surgical treatments with semi permanent make-up, especially around the lip area. Explore lip enhancement to see if this is something you may be interested in.
