appearance of smile and is the most common cosmetic dentistry
treatment widely used across the world.
Who are the ideal candidates for tooth whitening treatment?
The ideal candidates to benefit the most, from teeth whitening
are the individuals having

by coffees, teas, berries and other food items
- Stained
teeth due to excessive Smoking

in the mineral structure of the teeth, due to which

How is the tooth whitening or bleaching done?
Your dentist would apply a peroxide gel to your teeth
after the gums have been protected with a paint-on rubber
dam. Generally, the peroxide remains on the teeth for
several 15 to 20 minute intervals that add up to an hour
(at most).
The whitening process uses peroxide to bleach discoloration
and stains. Enamel is the first layer of the tooth surface
and is actually semi-translucent. The layer underneath
the enamel is known as dentin. In order to whiten the
dentin, a peroxide solution is placed on the enamel. The
solution will then bleach the dentin, resulting in whiter
teeth. When teeth are bleached, stained teeth will generally
lighten four to five shades, depending upon how severely
the teeth are stained or discoloured.
